GTA has contracted with Phase2 Technology to migrate all Vignette sites to the Drupal content management system.
Phase2 and its partners, Mediacurrent and Acquia, will install and customize Drupal in a cloud environment, migrate content from 65 agency websites to the new system, and provide Tier 2 support for GTA. We expect the project to begin in earnest October 1, and should take about a year to complete.
A little about the companies…
- Phase2 Technology, a Washington, D.C.-based company, is one of the largest Drupal firms worldwide and is a leader in the Drupal community, contributing countless modules as well as distribution platforms for online publishing and government. They have overseen successful web development engagements for the U.S. House of Representatives, Associated Press, The World Bank, and Thomson Reuters. They are the creators of Open Public, a Drupal distribution that caters specifically to government entities.
- Mediacurrent is the largest Drupal-centric agency in the Atlanta area and is widely considered to be the Drupal thought leaders within the Southeast region. They were the lead consultant for such high-profile Drupal engagements as the Miami Dolphins, AutoTrader.com, and the University of Georgia. They have also been the chief organizers for both the Atlanta Drupal Users Group (ADUG) and Drupalcamp Atlanta for the last three years.
- Acquia was founded by Dries Buytaert, the original creator of Drupal and is the leader of Drupal optimized hosting and infrastructure services. They work in a consultative capacity with virtually every major public sector organization that has ever adopted Drupal on the same scale as the State of Georgia.
